What you need to know
Income Protection "Accident Only" - Our policy covers those who have been medically certified as unable to carry out the key duties of their occupation as a result of an injury caused by an accident. The policy provides replacement earnings for those lost as a result of the accident.
Our policy covers
→ Up to 70% of your earnings, or between £500 and £6000 per month, depending on your selection when taking out your policy
→ Accidents caused by hazardous pursuits, as long as they are listed in your policy document
→ Back-To-Work benefits if your salary is reduced upon returning to work
→ Accidental death protection if death occurs within 30 days of the accident
To be eligible for our Accident Only Income Protection cover, you must:
→ Have been working at least 16 hours a week immediately prior to the accident.
→ Be self-employed or employed.
→ Be a UK resident aged 18-59.
→ Have three years of medical records from a UK doctor.
→ Be working and living in the UK. You will also be covered for short periods of holiday abroad. (However, always check your policy documents before traveling, as visits to some countries may invalidate your insurance.)
Our policy doesn’t cover
→ The primary reason you cannot work is because of a pre-existing condition made worse by an accident.
→ The injury you are claiming is intentional or self-inflicted.
→ You suffer a disabling injury while partaking in an activity you were advised not to participate in for medical reasons.
→ The accident occurred as a result of drugs or alcohol.
→ Your accident occurred while working abroad for more than 14 days on a single trip or more than 30 days in 12 months.
→ Your claim occurred while you were in a country where the FCDO advises against travel or recommends essential travel only.
→ Your claim is caused by your involvement in criminal activity.

How much of my salary will my policy cover?
→ Accident Only Income Protection aims to cover around 70% of your usual earnings. You can claim £500 and £6000 per month, depending on your selection when taking out your policy.
Are there any restrictions on cover?
→ As with all insurance policies, there are some restrictions to your coverage. You won’t be able to claim if:

You’ll also have to be a UK resident working in the UK aged between 18-59 and working for 16 hours or more per week imminently before the accident to be accepted.
Am I covered abroad?
→ Yes, as long as your trip does not exceed 14 days per single trip or 30 collective days over 12 months. You also won’t be covered if your accident takes place in a country where the FCDO advises against travel or recommends essential travel only.
What if I don`t work for 16 hours per week?
→ We offer a contingency benefit that provides a maximum benefit of £500 a month for a maximum of 12 months for those working less than 16 hours per week.
What does accidental death mean?
→ This is when you die from an accident rather than anything health-related.
With your Accident Only Income Protection cover, you’ll have the option to cover accidental death in the instance death occurs within 30 days of an accident and as a direct result of that accident.
What are my obligations?
→ When taking your policy, you are obligated to disclose all important or relevant information. You must also take reasonable care to provide accurate answers to questions when you take out or change your policy and when you make a claim.
You also have a duty of fair presentation of the risk to us before the policy starts or when you make any amendments to your policy.
